Every interaction leaves a mark.
Make it a good one.

Treat the community the way you treat people you're hosting at yours.

We don't moderate this community. We tend it — and that's everyone's responsibility, not just ours. This page has two parts. The principles we ask every member to embody — what we celebrate, what we value, what we hold each other to. And the violation framework — what happens when those principles are broken, and how we protect the community when they are.

Our vision → Community principles → Violation framework → Reporting process → Stewardship council → Transparency reporting →
Vision — what we're growing toward

An orientation.

The nine principles describe how we treat each other. This is not a standard to perform, and not a requirement for belonging. It's an invitation.

These are not things to announce about yourself. They tend to show up quietly — in the way you respond when something doesn't go the way you planned, in the way you hold space for someone whose experience is different from yours, in the way you walk back in the door the next time anyway.

Stay open

You don't have to agree with everyone. But the people who thrive here are the ones who stay genuinely curious — about other ways of living, healing, thinking. The ones who hear something unfamiliar and lean in rather than switch off.

Be flexible

Plans change. People surprise you. The path you expected isn't always the one you walk. Flexibility isn't weakness — it's the ability to keep moving when the ground shifts. We value people who can adapt without losing what matters to them.

Know yourself

Not as a project — as a practice. Noticing what you feel, why you react the way you do, what you need. And then noticing the same in the person next to you. That double awareness — inward and outward at once — is what real connection is made from.

Grow through it

Setbacks are not the opposite of progress. Sometimes they are the progress. We're not looking for people who have everything figured out. We're looking for people who are willing to sit with something hard and come out the other side with more understanding than they walked in with.

Part one — what we are

Seven principles for being together.

These are not rules. They are the posture we ask members to bring. The wellness world has been shaped by people who are constantly performing healing for an audience. Synchronize asks for something different — to actually be here, with each other, as we are.

Authenticity

You commit to not trying to fit in or please others. You want to know yourself better, express your thoughts, creativity, and the fullness of yourself authentically.

Honesty

You are honest with yourself and others — even when it isn't easy. Your friends value the same. It is one of the things you most love about each other.

Compassion

You are finding your way, with your own challenges. You are unlearning things you've been taught all your life. Treat yourself with the patience and kindness you give others.

Respect

You respect everyone's views and choices, even where they differ from yours. Your default is to listen, understand, and see each difference as a learning opportunity.

Conflict resolution

You communicate to find solutions that meet the needs of all parties. You seek to understand different perspectives and create space where everyone feels valued and respected.

Boundaries

You feel comfortable expressing your boundaries. This is integral to self-growth. Saying no to others means saying yes to yourself — and we honour that, fully.

United diversity

Societal norms influence everyone differently. You promote understanding and empathy. You support members facing challenges associated with prevailing norms. Diverse experiences are acknowledged and respected here.

Part two — what happens when principles are broken

What happens when a principle is broken.

Most platforms hide their enforcement framework. We publish ours — because the credibility of community stewardship depends on the community knowing what we will and won't tolerate, and how we respond when something goes wrong. The framework is graduated. We start with conversation, escalate where needed, and remove only when necessary.

Tier 1 — Conversation

Notice & reflect

First-time, low-severity, likely unintentional. We open a conversation, not a case file.

Examples

  • Soliciting reviews from friends rather than verified clients
  • Vague modality claims ("master healer", "energy expert") without lineage
  • Dismissive or condescending tone in a review or community thread
  • Posting an event without disclosing co-facilitators
  • Not honouring stated cancellation policy
What happensA note from the stewardship team. Conversation, context, opportunity to revise. No public mark on the profile. Resolved most of the time at this stage.
Tier 2 — Suspension

Pause & review

Repeat Tier 1, or first-time medium-severity. We pause the profile and review formally.

Examples

  • Repeated false marketing claims after Tier 1 conversation
  • Repeated unverified-review solicitation
  • Charging significantly above stated rate without renegotiation
  • Sharing client information without consent
  • Cultural appropriation of indigenous practice without lineage
  • Discriminatory language in reviews or community threads
What happensProfile suspended, listings hidden, bookings paused. Formal stewardship-council review within 14 days. Practitioner / member responds in writing. Decision: reinstate with conditions, extended suspension, or escalate to Tier 3.
Tier 3 — Removal & Bar

Removal & bar

Severe violation, or pattern. Permanent removal. The community is told why.

Examples

  • Medical claims that endanger users (curing cancer, replacing medication)
  • Sexual misconduct, predatory behaviour, breach of consent
  • Plant medicine where illegal, without legal pathway
  • Soliciting fake reviews or paid testimonials
  • Financial fraud, undisclosed financial incentives
  • Repeated Tier 2 violations
  • Threats, harassment, intimidation
What happensPermanent removal from the platform. Profile and history archived for legal record. Listed on the public stewardship register. If applicable, reported to relevant licensing or law-enforcement bodies. No re-entry except by stewardship-council vote with substantial new evidence.

The framework is graduated, but the bar is not negotiable. Stewardship is judgement, not algorithm. Each report is reviewed by humans, with context — and with care for everyone involved.

The process — how reports are handled

Five steps. From report to resolution.

When a member reports a concern, here is the process — published in advance so everyone knows what to expect, both the reporter and the person being reported.

01

Report

Any member can submit a report through the in-app form, or using our contact form. Anonymous reports accepted; identified reports prioritised.

02

Triage

Stewardship team reviews within 72 hours. Determines tier (1, 2, or 3). Reporter receives acknowledgement and timeline.

03

Response

Subject of the report is contacted with the specifics, given a chance to respond in writing — typically within 7 days.

04

Decision

For Tier 1 — the founding team decides. For Tier 2 / 3 — the founding team reviews evidence carefully, with input from the community council once it's established. Decision communicated within 14 days of report.

05

Appeal

Any decision can be appealed once, within 14 days. Appeal goes to a different council subset. Final decisions are published in the quarterly transparency report.

Who decides — and how often it changes.

In Year 1, all reports are reviewed by the founding team — currently two people, doing this carefully. Decisions are made with context and care, never in haste.

Toward the end of Year 1, as the community grows, we plan to introduce a stewardship council: a small, rotating group of practitioners, explorers, and partners who help review more complex reports. Composition, term length, and the way seats are filled will be shaped with the community as it forms.

This is an evolving framework. We won't pretend to have the final answer on day one. We'll publish what we learn, and adjust as we go.

We publish what we enforce.

Every quarter, we publish an aggregate report. Not the names — those stay private unless removed under Tier 3. The numbers, the categories, the response times, the patterns. If we can't see it, we can't improve it. And neither can the community.

Below is the structure of what we'll publish — the first report goes live one quarter after launch.

Reports submitted
total, broken down by tier and category
Median response time
from report to first stewardship contact
Tier 3 removals
named and reasoned, on public register
Appeals upheld
decisions reversed on appeal

We listen first. Always.

If you've experienced or witnessed a violation, please reach out. Reports can be anonymous. We acknowledge every report within 72 hours. The community is only as safe as its slowest response — we treat this with care.

Two promises we make before you ask.

A code of conduct sets the standard for how we treat each other. These two set the standard for how we treat you. They aren't perks we might revisit — they're the foundation the platform is built on.

Promise 01

Privacy first.

We don't track your location. You choose to share where you want to meet, and that share disappears at a fixed time, or 24 hours from posting. Your data is yours to keep — never something we quietly hand on. Your presence is honoured, not harvested. The same goes for your contacts — we check them once to find friends already here, then forget the rest. Nothing is uploaded or stored.

Promise 02

Ad-free.

We don't monetise your attention. No paid placement. No sponsored events slipped into your friends-feed. The platform is funded by membership and partner fees — so our incentive is to serve you well enough to stay, not to sell you on. We work for you, because you're the one who pays us.

Six things we commit to — and can be held to.

Each one is testable. Each one shapes a real product decision. If something we ship doesn't move us closer to one of these, we don't ship it. Hold us to them.

01

Treat the community the way you'd treat people you're hosting at yours.Hospitality is the standard — not engagement metrics, not retention curves, not growth-hacking.

02

Counterbalance the demands of the workday.Get you offline faster. Ease the known health costs of always-on work — the thing many platforms make worse, we exist to undo.

03

Shift achievement from large goals to small daily wins.Showing up to a class. Meeting a friend. Letting them know you need support. The micro-actions that compound into a life.

04

Move you from spamming event links to posting once.Trust that the friends nearby will see it and respond if they're interested. The noise reduction is the feature.

05

Let you bring practitioners you trust into the network.Your people benefit. The wider community benefits. The practitioner gets more bookings. Our first attempt at a circular economy — you become the steward.

06

Build a living community that adapts to everyone's needs. In time, a panel that helps holistic modalities receive guidance, and ensures practitioners are supported as the field matures.
